6/3/18 Premier Park, Balch Spring,TX

After a grueling 90 minutes against a strong Ranger FC, FC Denton were able to come out on top and take the D.1B NTPSL championship back to Denton!

It was a fast paced and physical game from beginning to end and the Rangers FC defense was air-tight as they withstood wave after wave of Denton attacks. The match was deadlocked at 0-0 until the breakthrough came late in the 2nd half when FC Denton were awarded a penalty kick, after Rangers' keeper brought down Irvin Pinales with a late challenge. Pinales stepped up to take the PK and buried his 3rd goal in 3 games to give Denton the 1-0 lead.

Rangers then began a late charge at the FCDTN back line and were almost rewarded for their efforts in the dying minutes, but Denton was able to hang on thanks to brilliant play from captain Corbin Rodriguez (including a brilliant point-blank reaction save) and ended the game champions of division 1B!

With the victory, FCDTN earn their 5th championship in 4 years and promotion to the top division of the NTPSL.

"I'm beyond proud of the guys for what they've accomplished this season!" club president, Carlos Olate told "We went through a rough patch in April but were able to find our form at the right time and showed the NTPSL that we belong among the best in the league and look forward to competing against the teams in division 1A next season! Since the beginning, the goal has been to give the players in the Denton area a chance to compete at higher levels of amateur soccer, and to have accomplished that is something we'll never forget! We're not going to spend too much time celebrating, however. We're eager to begin preparation for our inaugural run in the UPSL this Fall and will begin with a few rounds of tryouts as well as participating in several friendly matches with other semipro teams, featuring one against PDL's Brazos Valley Cavalry in College Station,TX. We're hoping, therough the tryout rounds, that we can field a reserve team in the NTPSL and a first team in the UPSL, giving the players in the Denton area even more opportunities to play at higher levels!"

The UPSL Fall season kicks off in September and the team will play their home games at "The Home of Champions," Billy Ryan High School, in Denton,TX.

The Fall season for the NTPSL kicks off in August and the new reserve team will play their home games at "The Eagle's Nest", Denia Park in Denton,TX.

Stay tuned for tryout dates!!
